This Google Earth lesson enhances LACK in three ways:
(All of this can be found in the 'Discussion Questions' section of the GE presentation)
Assessment Centered: Students are instructed to write a summary about what they learned in the lesson. This will assess their learning.
Community Centered: Students are asked a question about how Franklin's inventions and experiments effect them today. This encourages big-picture thinking that's related to them and their community.
Knowledge Centered: Students are asked a question about the facts. They are expected to know the history of electricity and who Ben Franklin was. Knowing the answers to these will expand their knowledge.

How do you think this video is relevant to Secondary Social Studies and English education?
This video can be relevant to teaching for a teacher because it can give insight into how their students think. Also, if studying the behavior of people who grew up in this generation in the future, the studier can keep in mind that the person's behavior may have been influenced by 'self-awareness,' being recognized, or something of that sort. In the video, Wesch says "in this new environment, we can create new kinds of conversations, and basically create a whole new groundwork for the way these conversations work." This is relevant to education because this type of technology is flourishing all over the world. Many positive and progressive things can come from embracing and taking advantage of it; not just self-awareness, but also new types of learning.

What does the term "recognition" refer to in the video and how could this concept be important in teaching and learning?
Being able to replay (and re-cognize) means to be able to comprehend more about something after seeing it a second time. In the video, Wesch discusses re-cognition as it relates to one making a video, posting it on YouTube, and then later seeing it when the creator can feel that they are a completely different person. They can regret things they did or said, or the way they looked. But this can relate to other things. If students are exposed to information in a different way more than one time, they will be able to comprehend, understand, and elaborate much better.

- I chose to enhance my blog by putting a search bar at the top of the right column. I see these on almost every site/blog that I visit and I always use them to find what I need. They're very helpful. The search bar in my blog not only allows visitors to search for information within the blog, but also in the blogs I've linked to, and over the internet in general. If visitors find my blog helpful and easy to navigate, they are more likely to come back to it.
